The tool used to create the channels for the percutaneous hair transplant

Percutaneous Hair Transplant

The percutaneous hair transplant is the optimal solution against hair loss. With the percutaneous hair, the grafts are inserted into the recipient area with extreme precision. The opening of each channel is a V-shape which enables the grafts to be inserted with great accuracy.

What is a percutaneous hair transplant?

A percutaneous hair transplant is performed in a very visible location on a person. Therefore, achieving high-quality results is important as they can clearly be seen. Because of this, it’s important that the procedure is carried out by an experienced medical expert.

With the percutaneous technique, the hair roots (grafts) are removed from the donor area in combination with the FUE hair transplant.

When the grafts are inserted into the recipient area, the peculiarity of the percutaneous method becomes apparent. The opening of the channel is V-shaped and not, as is usually the case, with a U-shaped incision. This means that the channels are a perfect size and the grafts can be inserted more precisely.

Thanks to the special channel opening, errors when inserting the grafts can be avoided and the hair roots are not damaged. In connection with the sapphire hair transplant technique, optimal end results can be achieved.

How does it work?

  1. Loosening and removal of the hair roots

The grafts are removed from the donor area according to the leading FUE method, in which a special hollow needle with a micromotor is used.

  2. Opening of the channels

With a percutaneous hair transplant, the channels in the recipient area are opened in a V-shape. The V-shaped opening of the channels plays an important role when it comes to controlling the direction of hair growth. This results in a natural and dense growth direction for the hair follicles.

  3. Insertion of the hair roots

In the last step, the removed grafts are individually transplanted into the set canals by our specialists. Our team pay close attention to the fact that the natural direction of hair growth is adhered to. The result is a natural-looking head of hair with undetectable signs of any pre-existing hair loss.

Advantages at a glance

Higher growth rate

The percutaneous hair transplant promises a higher growth rate of 15% compared to other procedures. When removing the hair roots, only the FUE method is used. Here, high-quality hollow needles are used so that the grafts are removed precisely and accurately. By inserting healthy grafts, the application enables a correspondingly higher growth rate.

Natural and higher density

The higher the success rate of the growth rate goes hand in hand with a higher density of the hair. With the percutaneous technique, this means in numbers: a 30% higher success rate compared to conventional methods.

Control of the direction of growth

The V-shaped opening of the channels plays a central role here. This enables Dr Balwi and his team of experts to control the onset of hair in the natural direction of growth.

Our team of doctors, therefore, makes sure that the natural direction of the hair is adhered to. The result is natural-looking hair that is no different from existing hair.

Faster wound healing

The success of the application is particularly evident in the rapid healing of wounds. Since fewer puncture sites are required, you can expect 20% faster healing with percutaneous hair transplantation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the characteristics of the percutaneous technique?

The speciality of this method lies in the shape of the blade that is used to open the hair channels. It is V-shaped and thus ensures precise hair channels that heal more quickly and absorb the hair optimally.

Is the procedure dangerous?

A hair transplant is a minimally invasive procedure under local anaesthesia. You leave the clinic on the same day. Opening the hair channels only causes microscopic gaps, which are completely healed after a few days. The treatment can therefore be classified as particularly low-risk.

Can transplanted hair fall out again?

Since only grafts from your own body are used for a hair transplant, the risk that the follicles will not grow is negligible.

At Elithair, we give a 30-year guarantee on the grafts we have transplanted, provided that you adhere to the guidelines for aftercare by our hair transplant experts.

How often can you do a hair transplant?

Most of the patients achieve the optimal result after the first procedure. A second treatment is only necessary in rare cases. Especially if there are not enough grafts in the donor area. In this case, the donor area must first recover before the procedure can be performed again.

How much does a treatment cost?

At Elithair, we give our patients full cost control with attractive all-inclusive packages.

After a free initial consultation, you will receive an offer that not only includes the treatment, but also an overnight stay in a 4-star luxury hotel, all transfers in Turkey, interpreters, care products and much more.

How long does the procedure take?

How long you will be treated for depends on the number of grafts and the method used. On average, patients spend between six and eight hours in the operating room. There is usually a break in between to have a light meal.

When can I exercise again after the treatment?

The days and weeks after the hair transplant are crucial for the success of the treatment. During the first few days, in particular, you should take it easy. Sports and strenuous activities should be avoided for about two weeks. Then you can start again with light exercises.

Why v-shaped blades?

There are several advantages to using V-shaped blades to open the hair channels. This way, the direction of hair growth can be better taken into account, which leads to perfect results. This also significantly shortens the healing process.
