How does the SDHI method work?

SDHI hair transplantation is a possible option depending on your personal hair situation. To find out whether you are suitable, our specialists carry out a preliminary examination. During the preliminary examination, it will be clarified in a personal discussion whether you suffer from any diseases, allergies or intolerances.

The SDHI technique is performed through the following steps:

  1. Removal of individual hair grafts

Using a tool with a micromotor, individual hair follicles are extracted from the donor area using the FUE technique.

  2. Opening the channels

The channels of the first three rows of the hairline are opened with the Sapphire method. The grafts are then inserted.

  3. Insertion of the hair grafts

All other bald areas of the head are then treated with the DHI technique.

Why choose SDHI hair transplantation?

As a specialist in the field of hair surgery, Dr Balwi also has the ambition to develop innovative grafting methods. This is to optimise the process and to achieve the perfect hair for our patients.

Currently, the DHI method is considered the most advanced procedure on the market. Not least because it no longer requires the opening of a separate channel, guaranteeing a higher rate of growth and density.

As for the “advantages of the Sapphire technique, these lie mainly in the use of high quality sapphire blades. The V-shaped opening of the channels in the recipient area results in a particularly dense hairline.

The combination of these two techniques, therefore, results in even more natural-looking end results.

SDHI hair transplantation without shaving the head – is it possible?

Many patients ask whether the SDHI technique can be applied without shaving. As with the “normal” DHI method, this is only possible if smaller areas or only a receding hairline are to be filled.

If the entire head area is to be treated, SDHI without shaving the head is unfortunately not possible.

However, there is no disadvantage, as the hair grows back naturally after a short period of time, both in the donor and the recipient area.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the characteristics of the SDHI technique?

Two different methods are used. The sapphire technique in order to define the hairline and implant the grafts and the DHI method for the hair transplant.

By combining the two techniques, an optimal growth rate and a perfect result is achieved.

When are the grafts firmly fused?

The micro opening of the capillary channels allow the healing process to be shortened. You can resume your normal daily activities in just two weeks after your hair transplant.

How long does the treatment last?

The time needed varies depending on the number of grafts and the method used. With the SDHI method, two procedures are combined, which means that the treatment takes a little longer. On average, patients spend between six and eight hours in the operating room.

Am I suitable for an SDHI hair transplant?

This technique is particularly popular with women. Thanks to the precise positioning of the hairline and the particularly dense arrangement of the grafts, perfectly natural results are achieved.

How much does an SDHI hair transplant cost?

The price of a hair implant depends on the number of grafts that are transplanted and the method used. However, the cost is much lower than providers in France. This is because the salary and maintenance costs are lower in Turkey.

Why is Elithair the only hair clinic to offer this method?

The SDHI method is the result of research conducted by Elithair and Dr Balwi. As a leader in the field of hair transplantation, we consider it our most important duty to offer the latest techniques. This in order to achieve the best end result for our patients.

Why is the SDHI method so popular with women in particular?

Due to the special muscle structure along the hairline, the SDHI method is particularly suited to hair transplantation for women. The sapphire technique creates a perfect hairline, while the DHI method gives optimal density in the remaining recipient area.

When is the right time to get a hair transplant?

The right time for a treatment has to be chosen individually and depends on the type of baldness and its evolution. On average, our patients are between 25 and 45 years old. During a free initial consultation, we determine your personal hair situation and give a professional assessment of the ideal time for your treatment.
